Andrew is Director of Business Development for Vital Materials, a post he has held since November 2023. Prior to that he was Technical Director at IQE plc, a leading manufacturer of advanced Compound Semiconductor materials. He held several roles at IQE, including Solar Business Unit leader and General Manager of the company�s Substrate Division, Wafer Technology. He also spent around 10 years at RSRE Malvern (now part of QinetiQ), working on advanced semiconductor materials for Infrared Sensing applications.

Dr. Vo-Dinh is R. Eugene and Susie E. Goodson Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Professor of Chemistry, and Director of the Fitzpatrick Institute for Photonics at Duke University. After high school in Vietnam, he pursued studies in Europe, receiving a B.S. in physics at EPFL-Lausanne, Switzerland (1970) and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry at ETH-Zurich, Switzerland (1975). Before joining Duke University in 2006, he was Director of the Center for Advanced Biomedical Photonics and a Corporate Fellow, one of the highest honors for distinguished scientists at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). His main research goal is focused on developing advanced technologies to protect the environment and human health. His research has centered on the development, integration, and application of nanophotonics, biophotonics, molecular spectroscopy, and nanotechnology for medical diagnostics and treatment, photoimmunotherapy, precision medicine, and global health.

Dr. Ralston is a pioneer in the integration of clinical grade wearable physiological sensors, bioelectronic therapeutics, and advanced data analytics to improve patient access to unobtrusive continuous and remote healthcare management. At Neursantys he is focused on improving the diagnosis and treatment of complex neurophysiological conditions caused by aging, injuries, and disease, in collaboration with healthcare delivery and research teams working to improve patient care and reduce healthcare delivery costs. John earned B.Sc. degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering from M.I.T., a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and the MSc degree in Management of Technology from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Dr. Wieland Hill is Director of Instruments R&D at AP Sensing and Member of the Board of Directors of the Fiber-Optic Sensing Association (FOSA). He has comprehensive experience in academic research as well as in the industrial development of lasers, micro-optics and instruments for distributed fibre-optic sensing (DFOS), notably with companies Lambda Physik, LIMO, JENOPTIK, LIOS Technology and AP Sensing as well as research centers in Germany, Austria, Russia and Ukraine. Wieland has been active in the DFOS industry for over 15 years. His current activities focus on the development of instruments for distributed temperature, strain and acoustic sensing. He has also been involved in IEC and SEAFOM activities on DFOS standards and recommendations.

Huangxian Ju, Changjiang Professor, the director of State Key Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry for Life Science, Nanjing University; Fellows of the International Society of Electrochemistry, the Royal Society of Chemistry and Chinese Society of Chemistry. Vasileios Koutsos is Professor in Soft Materials and Surfaces at the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh and Deputy Head of the Institute for Materials and Processes. Formerly a Marie Curie Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Laboratory of Condensed Matter Physics in Coll�ge de France (Paris, France, 1998-2000), he holds a BSc in Physics (Physics Department, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece, 1992) and a PhD in Polymer Science (Chemistry Department & Materials Science Centre, University of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands, 1997).He works at the interface of Materials Engineering and Soft Matter Physics and his main research interests lie in polymers, composites and nanocomposites, biomaterials, nanomaterials, sensors, coatings, adhesion, friction, and surface characterization.

Richard Klemm was born in 1948, and grew up in Eugene, Oregon. He graduated from Stanford University in physics in 1969 whileworking in the summers in his father�s organic chemistry laboratory.He then worked at a small company, making the first layered superconductor, TaS2(pyridine)1/2.He receivedhis PhD from Harvard University in 1974 in physics. Dissertation title: Layered Superconductors. After a postdoc at Stanford University, his was an assistant professor at Iowa State University. After receiving tenure, he left for Exxon, where he collaborated with J. Robert Schrieffer. He then worked at many institutions, but mainly at Argonne National Laboratory. Since 2007, he hasbeen at the University of Central Florida, where he has been a full professor of physics since 2019.

Prof Patryk Kot is a Professor of Microwave Sensor Technologies and the Deputy Director of Built Environment and Sustainable Technologies (BEST) Research Institute at Liverpool John Moores University. Prof. Kot leads a multidisciplinary research team in the design and development of bespoke microwave sensors for global challenges. The focus of these sensors is the real-time detection of foreign substances/contaminations on various materials as quality assurance NDT devices.

Lijie Li (FIET) is currently a Professor within the College of Engineering, Swansea University, Swansea, U.K. He obtained PhD degree in MEMS from University of Strathclyde. Currently his research interests are in developing MEMS transducers, energy harvesting devices, semiconductors devices, piezotronics, and optical and radio-frequency (RF) MEMS devices and systems.

Dr. Ginu Rajan is the Director of Centre for Engineering Research in Intelligent Sensors and Systems at Cardiff School of Technologies and is also a Reader in Sensor Technologies. Dr. Rajan has an extensive portfolio of global research in the fields of photonic sensors, smart composites, biomedical materials, and structural health monitoring. He has led several projects in UK, Australia and Ireland, and has extensively collaborated with Industries and has also secured grants over £2.5 Million from agencies such as Ser Cymru; Wales Innovation Network; Australian Research Council; Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, Australian Govt; Science Foundation of Ireland as PI/Co-I. Farzad Parsaie, Ph.D., has had his Previous roles at Technical University Berlin, Philips and NXP Semiconductors as well as at ams AG and Elesta GmbH as Researcher, Senior IC Design Engineer, Engineering Manager and Director of Engineering. After founding SAND MicroSystems GmbH in 2013 he has been involved in several Analog/Mixed-Signal ASIC and MEMS/Sensor Product Developments and in Functional Safety Management of Safety relevant Products (ISO 26262, IEC 61508). Cooperation with numerous Semiconductor and Tier 1/Tier 2 companies as customer and suppliers.

Dr Lynn Dennany has attracted ~£2.5M in research funding to develop electrochemical sensors for chemical and biomedical sensor applications. She is making pioneering contributions to three core areas: (1) novel electrochemiluminescence (ECL) materials; (2) development of robust surface attachment strategies for enhanced ECL sensitivities and multiplexed detection; (3) devising of novel advanced methodologies for ultrasensitive disease biomarker detection, thus making an impact on improving clinical practice. In particular, the detection of oxidative stress leading to mutagenesis, neurological diseases and aging and the early detection of biomarkers for disease detection are continuing themes within her research. She is currently the Vice Dean of Knowledge Exchange for the Science Faculty and a Reader in Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde, where she has established the electrochemical analytics group. Her vision is to establish rapid and portable electrochemical sensors for real world applications through understanding of electrochemical behaviour and event recognition events, particularly biochemical interactions. She has published over 70 publications and has successfully supervised 10 PhD students to completion.

Francis Govers has contributed to the design of over 30 crewed and uncrewed land, sea, air, and space vehicles.� He currently is the Associate Technical Fellow for Autonomy and founded the Bell Autonomy Department.� He serves as chairman of the Textron Autonomy Working Group. Francis started his career in the US Air Force as a Space Communications Operations Specialist, was lead engineer of command and control for the International Space Station, Deputy Chief Engineer, US Army Future Combat Systems, Chief Engineer of Elbit Systems of America, CTO of Gamma 2 Robotics, participated in the DARPA Grand Challenge, and managed a Zeppelin airship. He was VP of Engineering for the �Yellow Line� for NFL football and designed the onboard telemetry systems for NASCAR and IndyCar. He served as a track official for Formula 1, WEC, and a dozen other race series.�

Dr.Nan Xie(nan.xie@calgary.ca) is the Manager of Emerging Technologies at The City of Calgary Information Technology business unit.Additionally, he is an adjunct professor in the Department of Electrical and Software Engineering at the University of Calgary, Canada.Nan has spearheaded the development and deployment of award-winning smart city applications utilizing industrial IoT and AI machine learning. The City of Calgary’s success has consistently attracted media attention, establishing The City as a leader in technologic innovation within the government sector. Dr. Xie earned his Ph.D degree from the University of Calgary. His current research interest is in the areas of artificial intelligence, neural networks, Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G for smart city applications.

Dr. Chenxu Yu completed his PhD from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003, and did postdoctoral studies at Penn State University and Purdue University before joining the faculty at Iowa State University in 2007. He has published more than 120 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of five reputed journals. His research interests are in the areas of bionanotechnology and biosensors, food and bioprocess engineering, spectroscopic imaging and biodiagnostics, environmental monitoring and engineering.

Tristan Rousselle holds a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the University Grenoble Alpes. He completed part of his postgraduate studies at Sussex University (Brighton, UK) and the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology (San Diego, CA). In 2000, he co-founded a company called Protein�eXpert, now known as PX�Therapeutics. This biotechnology company specializes in the engineering, pre-clinical, and clinical development of therapeutic proteins. By 2011, PX�Therapeutics had more than 60 employees in Grenoble and Lyon and generated nearly 50% of its turnover outside Europe.

Alessandro Guidotti (Member, IEEE) received the master degree (magna cum laude) in telecommunications engineering and the Ph.D. degree in electronics, computer science, and telecommunications from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 2008 and 2012, respectively. From 2009 to 2011, he was a representative for the Italian Administration within CEPT SE43. In 2011 and 2012, he was a Visiting Researcher at SUPELEC, Paris, France, working on the application of stochastic geometry to interference characterization in wireless networks. From 2014 to 2021, hew was a Research Associate with the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Information Engineering �Guglielmo Marconi,� University of Bologna. From 2021, he is a Researcher with the Consorzio Interuniversitario delle Telecomunicazioni (CNIT).

Dhruv Seshadri joined the Department of Bioengineering in August 2023 as an assistant professor. He received his B.S. in polymers science and engineering in 2014, M.S. and PhD degrees in biomedical engineering in 2018 and 2022 respectively from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. His research involves the development, validation, and translation of wearable technology, bioelectronic devices, and digital therapeutics targeting human health and performance. This research has been disseminated in journals such as NPJ Digital Medicine, Circulation, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and IEEE and reported in news outlets such as CNN, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune, Wired UK, and Nature Outlook. His research has been funded by grants from Lehigh University, Dysphagia Research Society, Department of Defense, Northwestern University, National Science Foundation, and American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine for developing, translating, and commercializing wearable technology.

Professor Janez Trontelj is a Head of the Laboratory for Microelectronics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. He graduated in 1965 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in University of Ljubljana and received his master�s and PhD degree in 1969 and 1971, subsequently. He is a principal author of the first scientific book on mixed circuit design �Analog Digital ASIC Design� published by McGraw Hill in 1989. He authored or co-authored 26 granted patents, 13 of them being international. The major results of his research work are the development of severalmicrocircuits, as well as magnetic and mechanical microsystems, which are being produced in millions yearly. He is internationally recognized as an expert on magnetic sensor technology, Terahertz sensors and systems. He designed more than a dozen ASICs with integrated smart sensor systems, SoCs or SiPsused for different applications. He is the recipient of many national awards and is a member of Slovenian Academy of Engineering. He has held several invited talks at imminent conferences. He is a regular member of Sigma Xi Honor Society, and recipient of IAM ScientistMedal Lecture.

Has experience in materials science, advanced materials, nanotechnology and nanoscience, biomaterials for tissue regeneration, materials engineering (polymers) and physics and science teaching, working on the following topics: Biosensors and Electronic Tongues for early diagnosis in health science, agriculture, food control quality, environmental; biomaterials for tissue regeneration; nanostructured films, nanocomposites; information visualization techniques (IDMAP, Sammons Map, PCA) and physical and mechanical properties of heat treated wood. Vincent Ademola Adeyemi earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science from the University of Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria, and University of Ibadan, Nigeria, respectively, and a doctorate in Digital Systems from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), Mexico. Having worked as a Computer Science lecturer for over ten years, he is currently a researcher at the Image Processing Laboratory of the Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo de Tecnología Digital (CITEDI), Tijuana, Mexico, one of the research centers of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional. He is a thesis advisor and member of the thesis review committees for masters and doctoral students. His research interests include image processing,information security, cryptosystems, chaotic dynamic systems, multimedia encryption, secure communication systems, evolutionary algorithms, and FPGA systems design. He has over 20 publications, including articles in peer-reviewed international journals and conference proceedings, books, and book chapter. Also, he currently serves a guest editor for MDPI’s Fractal and Fractional and editor for IgMin Research, in addition to being a regular reviewer for several peer-reviewed international journals and conference proceedings.

Pascal Lorenz (lorenz@ieee.org) received his M.Sc. (1990) and Ph.D. (1994) from the University of Nancy, France. Between 1990 and 1995 he was a research engineer at WorldFIP Europe and at Alcatel-Alsthom. He is a professor at the University of Haute-Alsace, France, since 1995. His research interests include QoS, wireless networks and high-speed networks. He is the author/co-author of 3 books, 3 patents and 200 international publications in refereed journals and conferences.

Jean-Sebastien�s research focuses on using nanophotonic and plasmonic systems to enhance and control light-matter interactions at the nanoscale, through a wide range of geometries, including nanogaps, periodically nanostructured metal films, metamaterials, plasmonic waveguides, novel nanoparticles architectures, as well as hybrid photonic-plasmonic geometries.

Prof. Juyang Weng received the BS degree from Fudan University, in 1982, M. Sc. and PhD degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in 1985 and 1989, respectively, all in computer science. He is a former faculty member of Department of Computer Science and Engineering, faculty member of the Cognitive Science Program, and faculty member of the Neuroscience Program at Michigan State University, East Lansing. He was a visiting professor at the Computer Science School of Fudan University, Nov. 2003 - March 2014, and did sabbatical research at MIT, at Media Lab Fall 1999 – Spring 2000; and at Department of Brain and Cognitive Science Fall 2006-Spring 2007 and taught BCS9.915/EECS6.887 Computational Cognitive and Neural Development during Spring 2007.

Abraham Katzir is a Professor of physics at Tel Aviv University in Israel, and an expert in electro-optics and fiber�optics in the middle infrared (mid-IR). Katzir carried out research work in some of the top research laboratories in the US. He was a visiting scientist at the California Institute of Technology (CALTECH), CA, USA, a visiting staff member at ATT Bell Laboratories in New Jersey, USA, a Visiting Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA, USA and in Boston University, Boston, MA, USA.

Roberto Garello received a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering in 1994 from Politecnico di Torino with a thesis on Error Correction Coding. From November 2001 he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications at Politecnico di Torino. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, His main research topics are space communication systems and channel coding. On these topics, he has co-authored more than 150 papers and has been the Project Manager for over 40 research projects.

Arcangela Rago received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Information Engineering from Politecnico di Bari, Bari, Italy, in January 2022, where she is currently an Assistant Professor RTD-A in Telecommunications at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering. She is involved in the Integrated Terrestrial And Non-Terrestrial Networks (ITA NTN) project, funded by European Union under the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) of NextGenerationEU, partnership on “Telecommunications of the Future” (PE00000001 - program “RESTART”). Her main research interests include machine learning and data analytics for network optimization, 6G systems, and Non-Terrestrial Networks.

Dr Magomed Muradov is a Reader in Sensor Technologies whose research focuses on the design and development of bespoke electromagnetic antenna structures for sensing. As a part of his PhD, he investigated the design philosophy of the optimal structure of microwave system for the detection of water activity in cured meat products in 2017. This work resulted in a granted patent. After completing his PhD, he joined Sensor City Liverpool Ltd (one of four UK University Enterprise Zones) as an Industrial Software Specialist and lead a team of engineers in supporting Liverpool City Region based manufacturing and tech companies to adopt Industry 4.0 technologies.

Qing Wang received the Master degree in the College of Photonic and Electronic Engineering from Fujian Normal University, Fuzhou, China, in 2022. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. His research interests include optical fiber sensor, signal processing, deep learning and artificial intelligence. He has published more than 30 journal/conference papers. Layla Aziz is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Polydisciplinary Faculty of Sidi Bennour, a member of the Équipe de Sciences de l’information et Modélisation, Chouaib Doukkali University, Morocco. ShereceivedherPh.D. in Computer Science from theFSTG-Cadi Ayyad University, Morocco. She is a Master’s graduate of Computer Networks Engineering from the Ibn Zohr University, Morocco in the summer of 2010. Her research focuses on QoS in Ad Hoc networks, WSNs, Heterogeneous Networks, Multi-Criteria Analysis, and machine learning.
