Vasudevanpillai Biju is a Professor and the Director of the Promotion Office of International Alliance at the Research Institute for Electronic Science and Graduate School of Environmental Science at Hokkaido University. He assumed this position after a research career as a scientist and a senior scientist at AIST, Japan (2004-2015), a PRESTO researcher at Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST, 2010-2014), a visiting Scientist at the University of Texas at Austin, USA (2007), a postdoctoral fellow at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, USA (2003-2004), a JSPS postdoctoral fellow at AIST, Japan (2002-2003), and a research scientist at Angstrom Technology Partnership, Japan (2000-2002). He has been a visiting faculty at many universities in Japan, the US, and India. He has been a member of the board of studies/faculty evaluation/faculty screening/project screening committees of academic and government bodies in Japan, India, New Zealand, Chili, Taiwan, the European Union, Singapore, Belgium, etc. He has been a SPARC fellow at IIT Hyderabad, India, and an Erudite Fellow of the Bard of Higher Education, Kerala, India. His research interests include semiconductor nanocrystals and quantum dots, photo-functional molecules, nanobiotechnogy, and single-molecule techniques. His research activities are recognized with various awards by the Ozaki Foundation (Gen-nai Prize and Gen-nai Award), the Japanese Photochemistry Association, the Asian and Oceanian Photochemistry Association, and the Chemical Society of Japan. He became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2011. He has beenan associate editor of J. Photochem. Photobiol. C, and NPG Asia Materials.

Chi WU, Ph.D., Wei Lun Professor of Chemistry and Honorary Professor of Physics in the Chinese University of Hong Kong; In 1982, he graduated from Chemical Physics in the University of Science and Technology of China. After obtaining his Ph.D. in 1987 and then remaining as a postdoctoral both under the supervision of Professor Benjamin Chu in the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he moved to BASF (Ludwigshafen, Germany) in 1989: first as an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow for one year to cooperate with Dr. Wolfgang Schrof under the supervision of Dr. Dieter Horn; and then as a permanently hired staff to supervise the laser light-scattering laboratory in the Dispersion Group, the Department of Solid Stat and Polymer Physics.

Jonathan Blackledge holds a BSc in Physics, a Diploma of Imperial College in Plasma Physics, a PhD in Theoretical Physics and a Doctorate in Mathematics. He has published over 300 research papers and reports including 17 teaching and research books, 24 patents and technologies to license and has been supervisor to over 300 postgraduate students including 72 PhD research assistants and 28 post-doctoral research fellows. After a career in the UK scientific civil service, academia and industry, in 2008, he was appointed to the Science Foundation Ireland’s Stokes Professorship, becoming a citizen of the Republic of Ireland in 2011. He currently holds Honorary Professorships with a number of research institutes and universities, including the University of Wales, the Institute of Advanced Studies at Warsaw University of Technology, the Technological University Dublin, the University of Western Cape, and the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where he was previously Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research. He is currently Director for teaching and R & D programs focusing on Post-quantum Cryptography, Decentralised Digital Economies, and Data Analytics, working with SAS, Smart Data and Assets Limited and the UK National Health Service, respectively. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics, the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, the British Computer Society, the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and the Institute of Directors. In 2007, he was elected a Fellow of the City and Guilds London Institute for contributions to apprenticeship programs, and, in the same year, elected a Freeman of the City of London for his contributions to Economics.

Jose Firmino Aguilar Madeira completed his Habilitation in Mathematics in 2021 at the Universidade de Évora, PhD in Mathematics in 2019 at the Universidade de Lisboa, Instituto Superior Técnico, PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2004 at the Universidade de Lisboa, Instituto Superior Técnico, MSc in Mathematics in 1995 at the Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Ciências and BSc in the Scientific Area of Pure Mathematics in 1991 at the Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Ciências. He is Associate Professor with habilitation at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa and Integrated Scientific Researcher at the Instituto de Engenharia Mecânica do Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa. He was professor and lecturer of 9 curricular units namely "Mathematical Analysis I"," Mathematical Analysis II"," Mathematics III"," Linear Algebra"," Numerical Analysis"," Mathematics II"," Vector Analysis and Differential Equations"," Numerical Analysis and Optimization" and" Operations Research". Liana Padilha is an Adjunct Professor and Coordinator of Food Engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering at UFRN since 2019. She received her Chemical Engineer graduated from UFSM and PhD in Separation Processes with Membranes from COPPE/UFRJ. She has 15 years of experience in research projects developing laboratory products, pilot plant and industrial stages. She has extensive knowledge in the field of Chemical Engineering, with an emphasis on Separation Processes with Polymeric Membranes, acting on the following topics: synthesis and characterization of membranes, research projects with new separation routes and basic engineering of effluent treatment plants. She teaches classes in Momentum, Heat and Mass Transfer and Chemical Industry Projects and Processes at graduated level. In addition, she collaborates with the Alternative Energies and Transport PhenomenaResearch Laboratory and actively participates in the project to develop ultrafiltration modules in Brazil in partnership with INMETRO and SENAI. Junhui Hu received his Ph.D. Degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, in 1997, and B. E. and M. E. degrees in electrical engineering from Zhejiang University, China, in 1986 and 1989, respectively. Currently he works for Nanjing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics, China, as a full professor. His research interest is in ultrasonic sensors and actuators, ultrasonic nano fabrication, ultrasonic micro/nano/molecular manipulations, etc. He is a Chang-Jiang Distinguished Professor, China, and an IAAM Fellow. He authored and co-authored more than 300 publications, including more than 100 full SCI papers (H index = 30), two books, 1 editorial review in an international journal and more than 60 disclosed/empowered China and Japan patents. He is the sole author of monograph book “Ultrasonic Micro/Nano Manipulations: Principles and Examples” (2014, World Scientific). He has given more than 30 keynote/invited lectures at international conferences, and his research work has been highlighted by 7 international scientific media. He served lots of international conferences as a Technical Program/Organizing/Scientific Committee member, and was the chairman of five international conferences. He was awarded the title of valued reviewer by Sensors and Actuators A: Physical and by Ultrasonics, and won the Paper Prize from the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (Japan) as the first author in 1998. Presently, he is an editorial board member of four international journals, board member of Chinese Acoustical Society and member of its academic work committee, and deputy director of expert committees on electronic information materials and devices, and on Aerospace materials, Chinese national scientist think tank for materials and devices.

Elena Marrocchino is an Academic Researcher at the Department of Environmental and Prevention Sciences, University of Ferrara. She received her degree in Geological Sciences at the University of Ferrara and her PhD in Mineralogy, Petrology and Crystallography at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. She has been a research fellow at the University of Ferrara for more than 10 years. She has extensive knowledge in applying scientific methodologies for diagnostics and management of the intervention on the existing built historical and artistic heritage. She is involved in several projects related to historical and conservative analyses of the cultural heritage from museums, archaeological sites and monuments for petrochemical-mineralogical investigation of medieval fusion, pigments, frescoes, lithoid building materials, such as mortars, plasters and bricks. She also teaches classes on archeopetrography at a graduate level.In addition, she is involved in research activities on characterizing river sediments from Italian and foreign contexts (for example, Mozambique, Argentina and Morocco) to assess their environmental quality and possible uses as raw and secondary materials for industry and construction. Moreover, in general, she published several scientific papers on petrographic, mineralogical and geochemical study and characterization of construction and demolition aggregates to promote their reuse, after appropriate recycling treatments. Currently, she is teaching in a graduate class on the characterization of the geochemical and compositional footprint of soils and food in the context of food traceability projects, for the development of analytical methods aimed at food traceability and in this context, publishing scientific papers on international journals and as a convener in International Scientific Congress (EGU, Goldschmidt). She guest edited several Special Issue for Scientific journals such as Minerals (MDPI ed) and Geosciences (MDPI ed). She has been the Project Manager of the Ferrara partner in the Interreg IT-HR ECOMAP project –Eco-sustainable management of marine and tourist ports;and she is currently the Project Manager for the Project LIFE19 ENV/IT/000373 - Recycling of granite scraps II - LIFE REGS II focused on the exploitation and transferability activities of research results in the field of natural geo-resources from quarries and mines. Author of several articles in international journals, she is involved in Third Mission and Public Engagement initiatives.

Simona Silvia Merola received from the University of Naples in Italy her “Summa cum Laude” Magister Degree in Physics in 1995 and the PhD in Chemical Engineering in 2001. Since 2001 she is a tenured Researcher of IstitutoMotori (IM), now named STEMS, of CNR, Italian National Research Council. Since 2010 she is senior researcher and chief of a division involved in the application of optical diagnostics to the fuel injection and combustion process investigations. Her research work focuses on the experimental analysis of the thermo fluid-dynamic phenomena that occur in-cylinder and at the exhaust of the internal combustion engines fuelled by conventional and alternative fuels. She has the direct responsibility for experimental activities in several research projects and has an active role in the organization of technical sessions of various international technical conferences. Further she supports several ISI journals as reviewer and associate editor. In addition, since 2012 SSM is evaluator of research projectsfor national and international funding organizations.

Dr Wei Min Huang is currently an Associate Professor (tenured) at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. With over 25 years of experience on various shape memory materials (alloys, polymers, composites and hybrids), he has published over 200 papers in journals, such as Materials Today, Accounts of Chemical Research, and Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, and has been invited to review manuscripts from over 300 international journals (including Progress in Polymer Science, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, and Advanced Functional Materials, etc), project proposals from American Chemical Society, Hong Kong Research Grants Council, etc, and book proposals from Springer, Elsevier and CRC. He has published two books (Thin film shape memory alloys – fundamentals and device applications, Polyurethane shape memory polymers) and is currently on the editorial board of over three dozen of journals.

GHEORGHE GRIGORAȘ was born in VatraDornei, Suceava, Romania, in 1976. He received a M.S. degree in power engineering from the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, Romania, in 2000 and a Ph.D. degree in power engineering at the same university in 2005. In 2022, he was appointed as a Full Professor in the Power Engineering Department at the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, Romania. Also, he is Head of the “Availability of Energy Systems Supplied from Renewable Sources” Research Laboratory and “Energy management/Energy Quality Optimization” Department of the Power Systems Engineering Research Center at “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi. He is the author of 15 books, 11 book chapters, and more than 300 articles having as the research topics: load modelling, power quality, increasing the energy efficiency in the electric networks; optimal integration of renewable energy sources in the electrical networks, Artificial Intelligence techniques in the supervisory and control of power systems, etc. These research topics were motivated by the current technological developments in the Power Engineering field and the gradual implementation of Smart Grids. He was a member of over 150 technical program committees of the international symposia and conferences carried out in countries from Europe, Asia, and North America. He is a Member of the International Association of Engineers and the World Academy of Science, Engineering, and Technology.
