Aristos Christou is an American engineer and scientist, academic professor and researcher. He is a Professor of Materials Science, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Professor of Reliability Engineering at the University of Maryland. Christou has conducted research in basic device physics, solid state electronics, semiconductor materials, radiation effects in microelectronics, radiation hard design methodologies, basic processes of materials degradation, along with degradation of metal microstructure and high pressure induced transformations in steels and iron alloys. His technical contributions include the development of material's surface and interface science and methodologies for achieving reliable high frequency devices, optoelectronic devices and circuits. Dr Serge Cosnier is currently Research Director exceptional class at CNRS at the Grenoble Alpes University (France) and the scientific director of the POLYNAT Carnot Institute. He received his doctoral degree in Chemistry from the Toulouse university (1982) and was an Alexander von Humbold postdoctoral fellow at the university of Munich, Germany. He is member of the Council of the Bioelectrochemical Society (2016-2023) and serves as Editor of Bioelectrochemistry, Specialty Chief Editor of Frontiers in Analytical Chemistry and Commissioning Editor for Electroanalysis. Dr Cosnier’s activity is focused on the molecular electrochemistry and bioelectrochemistry with the development of electrode materials whose applications include analytical chemistry with biological sensors (enzyme electrodes, immunosensors, aptasensors and DNA sensors), electrocatalysis, electrochemical biomimetic systems and energy conversion (biofuel cells and abiotic fuel cells). Dr. Csaba Balázsi (MSc-1993, PhD-2000, DSc-2014) is a Scientific Advisor in Centre for Energy Research, Eötvös Loránd Research Network, Centre of Excellence of Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He is metallurgical engineer with 20+ years of practice in various physical and chemical technologies of nanocomposite manufacturing, including ceramic processing, nano-milling, hydrothermal, powder metallurgy, sintering, electrospinning. His research area is covering R&D&I of high performance materials, ceramics for medical, sensor and high temperature applications. Backerra has graduated in theoretical physics at the Eindhoven University of Technology in The Netherlands and worked for three years at Philips Research Laboratories. She continued independently, making a search for complementary physics. To develop a way of complementary thinking she studied composition at the Conservatory in Enschede and in Saint Petersburg (Russia). After that she constructed a complementary mathematical language and applied this on physics, obtaining twin physics. Assoc Prof. Dr. Pavol Hvizdoš, DrSc. is a leading scientist and researcher in the Slovak Academy of Sciences. He has been working in the IMR SAS since 1988. In 2000-2002 he worked at Queen Mary University of London, UK, in 2003-2008 he held a post-doc position at Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Povoden-Karadeniz has obtained profound experience in computational modeling of thermodynamics, starting with his diploma thesis, where he described the thermodynamics of multi-component, multi-phase mineralizations in heat-affected calcareous rocks due to high-temperature metamorphism. His doctoral study at ETH focused on thermodynamic modeling of rare earth – transition metal oxide systems, aiming on the understanding of long-time service degradation mechanisms in perovskite-based high-temperature solid oxide fuel cells. In 2009 he joined the Institute of Material Science and Technology at TU Wien as senior scientist, where he extended his interest to the modeling and simulation of non-equilibrium precipitation in various conventional and special alloys (Ni-base superalloys, steel, Aluminum alloys, refractory alloys, shape memory alloys). At TU Wien, he used his CALPHAD modeling expertise for the development of large multi-component thermodynamic and diffusion databases. Dr. Povoden-Karadeniz teaches special University courses on computational materials modeling and materials research and development for high-temperature applications and has authored more than 40 scientific papers. His paper “Thermodynamic modeling of metastable phase in the Al-Mg-Si system” was awarded best paper of the year 2013 printed in the CALPHAD journal. Behnaz Bakhtiari is a Ph.D. researcher at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL). Her research focuses on applied electromagnetics, novel design, modeling, and implementation of metasurfaces for various applications. She has several experiences in designing multifunctional graphene-based metasurfaces, reviewing manuscripts as an invited reviewer of IEEE Transaction on Electromagnetic Compatibility, publishing papers, and presenting papers at conferences.

Nidal El Biyari is a Ph.D. holder in Engineering Sciences from Euromed University of Fez in 2023. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering from FST Fez in 2019. Her doctoral research focuses on the design, modeling, and implementation of an optofluidic biocensor for breast cancer diagnosis and monitoring. Nidal was born on April 29, 1996, in Fez, Morocco. She has extensive experience in various fields, including CATIA V5 design, additive manufacturing, optics, SPR bio-sensing, and more.

I am passionate about all aspects of synthetic chemistry research and teaching. My primary objectives are to design, synthesize, and characterize novel small organic molecules and polymers for various functions, such as carbon-based molecular electronics, quantum spin chains, molecular magnets, molecular membranes, pharmaceutical, and biomedical applications for today and tomorrow. I enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team and have gained valuable knowledge and experiences from academia and industry. Furthermore, my interests are widely varied, including graphene and molecular electronics, OLED device fabrications, bioactive materials, electrochemical sensors, nanomaterials, scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) analysis.
