Professor Sagartirtha Sarkar, heads the Genetics and Molecular Cardiology Laboratory at the University of Calcutta since 2005. After obtaining his Ph.D. degree in the field of Molecular Genetics,he completed his postdoctoral research tenure at the Department of Molecular cardiology, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio, USA and served as a visiting scientist in Department of Medicine, University of California, San Diego. Hisgroup is one of the few laboratories in India which studies molecular mechanism of cardiac diseases (pathological hypertrophy and MI) with a view to understand disease pathogenesis and to develop therapeutics.Apart from identifying major signaling cascades and cellular crosstalk with novel therapeutic targets, he has successfully developed and patented a nano-particle based targeted drug delivery system. Roger Howard Coletti, MD, FACC, FASNC, FSCAI was born in 1945 in New York City, New York. He attended Georgetown University College of Arts and Sciences Majoring in Government with minors in Philosophy and Psychology. He did his premedical studies at Hofstra University where he received a Master of Arts in Natural Sciences. He did one year of bench research on drug metabolism when enrolled in a PhD program in a Pharmacology at New York University Medical School. He then transferred to State University of New York at Downstate where he completed the four-year curriculum for his MD. Dr. Coletti's medical internship and residency was performed at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, NY. He did two years of cardiology fellowship at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and then transferred to Westchester County Medical Center where he completed one year of Interventional Cardiology fellowship. During his fellowship Dr. Roger Coletti was involved in research in CPR, coronary blood flow and the use of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) support of failing hearts. Along with Dr. David Bregman, they discovered a new form of CPR named Abdominal Counterpulsation CPR. He practiced as an interventional cardiologist at several New Jersey hospitals until moving to Delaware where he continued to practice interventional cardiology for three years before retiring from active medical practice. He did clinical research and publication in the field of alternative treatment of chronic pain secondary to chronic muscle spasm and published a book in 2022 on his research entitled "Chronic Muscle Spasm and Pain – Discoveries in the Etiology, Identification and Treatment of Chronic Muscle Spasm and Resultant Chronic Pain” Also published in 2022 were two papers entitled “The Ischemic Model of Chronic Muscle Spasm” and “Chronic Muscle Spasm Induced Chronic Pain Treated with the CMECD Procedure”. Ali Hassan: I am a fourth-year medical student at King’s College London with a dedicated interest in cardiology. I completed an intercalated BSc in Cardiovascular Medicine at King's College London, a British Heart Foundation Centre for Excellence. I undertook a project at the James Black Centre department of Cardiology, focusing on organoid technology, which enhanced my understanding of genomics within cardiology and the pre-clinical underpinnings of cardiac intervention. Additionally, I gained in-depth knowledge of clinical cardiology, including its manifestations and treatment pathways. I also furthered my clinical skills by engaging with echocardiography and point of care ultrasound. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to advancing in the field of cardiology, bridging both research and clinical practice. Recently completing an MSc in Health Policy and Health Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE), I engaged in cardiology-related management, regulation, and health technology assessment projects. Mr. Ganesh P Sabat is the CEO of Sahajanand Medical Technologies Ltd. and has served in that position since April 1, 2013. Mr. Sabat has over two decades of experience in corporate strategy and finance. Mr. Sabat has earned his MBA from the Washington University in Saint Louis, USA and he is also a Company Secretary from Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He is on various Government and Industry-led Committees including SCALE Committee formed by DPIIT, Department of Commerce & Industry, Govt of India, CII &FICCI MedTech Committees, and is the Founding President of Indian Stent Manufacturing Association (ISMA), where he plays a stewardship role in creating the vision for India’s MedTech and healthcare system, assisting the governments vision to achieve India’s Health Goals.
