Dr. Jieshan Qiu is Cheung-Kong Distinguished Professor of Carbon Science and Chemical Engineering, and Dean of Chemical Engineering College at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), China. He is an internationally recognized research and thought leader in chemical engineering and carbon science. His research encompasses both fundamental and applied aspects of carbon materials and science, with a focus on the methodologies of producing carbon materials for energy storage and conversion, catalysis, and environment protection. He has published 800+ papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Mater., Adv. Mater., Adv. Font. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Energy Environ. Guoqian Chen, Professor of fluid dynamics and sustainability science in College of Engineering at Peking University, China, and Distinguished Adjunct Professor in the Center of Research Excellence in Renewable Energy and Power Systems at King Abdullaziz University, Saudi Arabia. He has a wide spectrum of research interests including climate thermodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, renewable energy and resources, systems ecological modelling, ecological economics, global and regional sustainability studies. Bei Gou obtained his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at Texas A&M University in 2000. He was a power application engineer with ABB System Control at Santa Clara, CA from 2000 to 2002, and worked as a senior analyst at the Independent System Operator – New England (ISO-NE) from 2002 to 2003. Dr. Gou joined the department of Electrical Engineering at UT Arlington as an assistant professor from 2003 to 2008. He was with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as associate professor at North Dakota State University from 2011 to 2013. Dr. Gou has developed a novel algorithm of power system state estimation which solves the existing problems suffered by today’s state estimators for more than 50 years. He has authored two books, Fuel Cells: Modeling, Control and Applications (Taylor & Francis/CRC Press, USA, 2009) and Monitoring and Optimization of Power Transmission and Distribution Systems (VDM Publishing House Ltd., Germany, 2009).

Philip W. T. Pong received a B.Eng. from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2002 with 1st class honours. Then he obtained a PhD in engineering at the University of Cambridge in 2005. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Magnetic Materials Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for three years. Currently he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).His research interest focuses on the fault detection, predictive maintenance, and anomaly detection of power grid. He is the Founding Director of the Green Technology Research and Training Laboratory, leading the research and education activities of offshore wind energy at NJIT. Prof. Mohammad B. Shadmand is the Director of Intelligent Power Electronics at Grid Edge (IPEG) Research Laboratory and Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at University of IllinoisChicago. His current research interest is resiliency of power electronics dominated grid. He specializes in distributed self-learning control schemes, grid-following and grid-forming inverters, and intrusion detection systems for energy systems. Prof. Shadmand was awarded Michelle Munson Serban Simu Keystone Research Scholar, Kansas State University in 2017. He was awarded the 2019 IEEE Myron Zucker Research Grant. Lingai LUO received her Bachelor’s (1982) and Master’s (1984) degrees in thermal energy engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, China. She received her Ph.D. degree (1991) in mechanic and thermal engineering from National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine (INPL), Nancy, France. She worked as assistant professor (1991-1993) at INPL, as associate professor (1993-1996) at University of Nancy I, and at INPL (1996-2003). From 2003 until 2012 she was a professor at University of Savoie, France. She is now senior research director of French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) at the laboratory of thermo-kinetics, Nantes (LTN), France. Dr. Luo’s research covers a wide range of topics in thermal, process and energy engineering: combustion and fluidized bed; energy balance analysis; solar refrigeration machines; separation processes; energy for buildings, etc. More recently, her research activities focus on a fundamental strategy based on thermodynamic analysis and centered on the transfer intensification and energy systems optimization. More precisely, it concerns firstly the design, fabrication, characterization, simulation and optimization of innovative fluidic, thermal and reactive components, and secondly the development of new thermo-chemical systems and processes for low-grade thermal energy transportation and valorization, and inter-seasonal solar energy storage for their applications in buildings. Dr. Luo is mainly engaged in the intensification of heat and mass transfer and shape optimization in different energy components, systems and processes. She proposed a multi-scale approach for process intensification. To improve the global performance (productivity) of a process, intensification should necessarily be implemented at three scales: local scale, component scale and system scale. Dr. Luo is the author of 2 books and about 100 journal articles. From 2007 until 2012, she was the head of laboratory of design optimization and environmental engineering (LOCIE) of CNRS and University of Savoie. She was the cofounder and coordinator of Sino-French Collaboratory for Environmental and Process Engineering (1998 - 2006) and is the head of its successor Sino-French Laboratory for Sustainable Energy (2008-2014) of French CNRS and Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is also an invited professor at 5 Chinese universities/institutions, and Leuphana University at Lüneburg, Germany.

Jiansheng Huang received the B.E. and M.E. from Hefei University of Technology in 1982 and 1984 respectively, the MSc from The University of New South Wales in 1997 and the PhD from The National University of Singapore in 1999. Currently he is working with the School of Computer, Data & Mathematical Sciences, Western Sydney University, Australia. His current research interests include power quality, power system operation and protection, and integration of renewable energy sources.

Dr. Hong Wei Wu is an Associate Professor in the School of Physics, Engineering and Computer Science, and Leader of the Research Group in Monitoring Climate and its Impact (MCI) – C3R at University of Hertfordshire (UH). He is Fellow of the Energy Institute (FEI), a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Member of IMechE, Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He is a visiting professor at East Kazakhstan State Technical University (EKSTU), Kazakhstan. He received his PhD degree (Joint PhD Programme with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology) in Thermofluids from Beihang University in 2004. He has an academic/research profile previously developed at Northumbria University, University of the West of Scotland, Birmingham University and Brunel University London in UK, as well as at University of British Columbia & University of Alberta in Canada.

Kamyar Mehran (M’09, SM’20) is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Electrical Power Engineering at Queen Mary University in Londonand the director of the Real-Time Power and Control System (RPCS) Laboratory at the school of EECS. He received his PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and MSc in Control and Automation from Newcastle University, UK, in 2010 and 2004, respectively. His area of research interests is developing novel control methodologies and condition monitoring systems for islanded DC microgrids, energy storage systems, and Silicon Carbide (SiC)-based power electronics where he published over 80 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications, and several book chapters. He also has an extensive track record in collaborative research projects with totalling £3.64M of external funding as a principal investigator and co-investigator supported by UKRI research councils including Innovate UK, Royal Society, Newton fund, EPSRC and industry. He is a member and reviewer for EPSRC college and serve as an editorial board member for MDPI Energiesjournal. From 2013 to 2015, he was a research fellow at the University of Warwick, UK, and from 2010-2013 he was a research associate at Newcastle University where he also acted as a commercialisation manager for a Newcastle university spin-off company developing novel opto-electronics for GaN micro-LEDs. Prior to his academic positions, he collected 8 years of industrial experience in the software engineering roles.

Hideo Kumagai was born in 1959, graduated from Tokyo University of Science in 1982 with a bachelor's degree and started working at Tamagawa Seiki Co., Ltd. He specializes in inertial navigation systems, and has developed many types of inertial navigation systems, including mechanical, optical, and MEMS types. In 2000, he received a doctorate from Ritsumeikan University, and in 2019, he became a managing director at Tamagawa Seiki, and is currently focusing on the development of aircraft equipment.

AuricaFarcashas a background in organic chemistry and leads a research group focused on the development of supramolecularorganic semiconductors useful as optoelectronic materials. She received a doctorate degree in Polymer Chemistry from PetruPoni Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (ICMPP) Iasi-Romania in 1998. Afterwards shewasa post-doctoral fellowin the group of Professor Silvia Janietzat Fraunhofer Institute for AngewandtePolymerforschung, Golm-Germanyin semiconductingorganic materials (2001). Then, she continued her training with Professor Harry W. Gibson at Virginia Polytechnic Institute& State University Blacksburg–USA, and Professor Helmut Ritterat Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf-Germany,where the work was focusedonthe synthesis of supramolecularconjugated materials. Since 2006, she has been invited professor/collaborator at the University d’Evry(France), Jacobs University (Germany) andCYCergy Paris Université (France). Her interests also include solution-based synthesis of supramolecular conjugated polymers and their interactions with biological entities, activitiesthatare instrumental for future applications in the field of nanobiotechnology. She is senior-author ofmore than 70 research articles published in ISI-indexed journals, and is also author of two books on conjugated polyrotaxanes, and six book chapters. Shehas been the recipient of 40 national and international research grants, and has submitted 21 patent applications,out of which threeare employed in industry.

Dr. Chua Kian Jon is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore. He has been conducting research on renewable energy systems and heat recovery systems since 1997. He has conducted both modelling and experimental works for specific thermal energy systems. He is highly skilled in designing; fabricating; commissioning and testing many sustainable energy systems to provide for heating, cooling and humidity control for both small and large scale applications. He has been elected to several fellowships including Fellow of Royal Society, Fellow of Energy Institute and Fellow of IMechE. Olena Okhay obtained her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering in November 2009. Her main scientific interests during PhD degree were: i) processing and characterization of ferroelectric films and ceramics; ii) structure, microstructure, dielectric, piezoelectric, magnetic properties of ferroelectrics and related materials. Her post-doc activities focused on the materials for energy harvesting and storage such as thermoelectrics, piezoelectrics, as well as materials for solar cells and electrochemical capacitors (called as supercapacitors). Her current work concentrated on 1D-2D carbon-family materials, different composites, including metal oxides, polymers, etc. She published about 40 papers and 3 book chapters. She is Reviewer in about 20 International Journals.

Dr. Guene Lougou Bachirou is an Associate Professor in the School of Energy Science and Engineering at the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), Harbin, China. He received a B.S. degree in ES Science Physics and Chemistry in 2010 and an M.S. degree in Renewable Energy and Energy Systems in 2012 from the University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin, and a Ph.D. degree in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics in 2018 from the Harbin Institute of Technology. He joined the School of Energy Science and Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology in 2019, as an Assistant Professor (2019-2021). Currently, he is an Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Overseas Expert/Exchange Office at the Harbin Institute of Technology. His current research interests are in the areas of solar thermochemical cycles and energy storage technologies. He is serving on the editorial boards of the Journals of Energies and Rare Metals. Mihaela Popescu (M’07–SM’15) received the engineering and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Craiova, Craiova, Romania, in 1988 and 2001, respectively. She is currently a Professor with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Craiova, and the Director of the Department of Electro mechanics, Environment and Applied Informatics. Her research interests include power converters, adjustable-speed drives, active power filters, and power quality. She has authored or co-authored more than 150 journal and conference papers in these fields.

Professor Emeritus Han-Yong Jeon is a geosynthetics/technical organic materials researcher of Inha University, Incheon, South Korea. Since 1998, he is the director of Geosynthetics Institute Korea Directory and has worked in International Geosynthetics Society as Council member (2006~2012) and the 6th president of Korean Geosynthetics Society (2011~2013) and the 32nd President of Korean Fiber Society (2014~2015). Safae AAZOU (SA) is an habilitated Professor at Faculty of Science, University of Mohammed V in Rabat (FSR-UM5) and she is an affiliated researcher at Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Science, Innovation and Research affiliated to Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (MAScIR-UM6P), Rabat, Morocco. SA obtained her Ph.D. in May 2014 in Physics from both Universities Chouaib Doukkali University (UCD), El Jadida, Morocco and Luik University (Ulg), Liege, Belgium in collaboration with Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria. Her main interest area covers a broad spectrum of topics ranging from fundamental to applied, in-depth research in the field of photonics, nanomaterials and photovoltaics, organic and inorganic semiconductors, thin films deposition with physical and chemical ways as well as optoelectronic devices. SA has expertises in modeling and simulation of optoelectronic devices with different softwares, she is working as well on photovoltaic panel testing and power electronics, in addition to wastewater treatment based on photocatalytic semi-conductors, furthermore green hydrogen as green energy resources. SA has been involved in several European projects and she is local coordinator of other H2020 funded projects, she is the coordinator of AUF funded project aims perovskite/kesterites tandems. She has been responsible for tasks of National projects supported by the Moroccan Government and OCP Group. Mr. Abdelkrim ABOURRICHE is a Professor in the Industrial Engineering Department at National School of Applied Sciences in Safi, Morocco. Abourriche’s specialist areas are the development of original natural resources such as Moroccan oil shale. He also worked as Project Manager entitled: Solvent Extraction of organic matter of oil shale. Study and Promotion of the oils produced. This project is funded by Hassan II Academy of Science and Technology. In 2008 he took on the role of Head of the Industrial Engineering Department at National School of Applied Sciences Safi. Dr. Abdellatif Boukir is Full Professor since 2001 at the Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University (USMBA), Morocco. Prof. Dr. Constantin Voloşencu graduated as an engineer from Politehnica University of Timișoara, Romania, where he also obtained a doctorate degree. He is currently a full professor in the Department of Automation and Applied Informatics at the same university. Dr. Voloşencu is the author of ten books, seven book chapters, and more than 160 papers published in journals and conference proceedings. He has also edited twelve books and has twenty-seven patents to his name. He is a manager of research grants, editor in chief and member of international journal editorial boards, a former plenary speaker, a member of scientific committees, and chair at international conferences. His research is in the fields of control systems, control of electric drives, fuzzy control systems, neural network applications, fault detection and diagnosis, sensor network applications, monitoring of distributed parameter systems, and power ultrasound applications. Josip Lorincz received a B.Sc. (M.S. equivalent) and a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications engineering and computer science from the University of Split, Croatia in 2002 and 2010, respectively. In 2003 he joined the Department of Electronics and computing at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Split, Croatia. He was a visiting researcher at the Advanced Network Technologies Laboratory of the Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy. As a project leader or researcher, he participated in more than twenty scientific and professional projects funded by the public or private sector. He is the founder and co-chair of the Symposium on Green Networking and Computing, organized in the frame of the International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM). He also serves as the technical program committee member for many international scientific conferences and reviewer for top scientific journals. His current research interests include energy-efficient wireless and wired networks, optimization in telecommunications, advanced design, the management and analyses of computer heterogeneous networks, and performance evolution of routing protocols. He has authored more than 50 research papers published in different scientific conferences and journals. He is a senior IEEE member, a senior ACM member, a Croatian Academy of Engineering member and the first president of the Croatian ACM chapter.
