Biography
Dr. Jieshan Qiu is Cheung-Kong Distinguished Professor of Carbon Science and Chemical Engineering, and Dean of Chemical Engineering College at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), China. He is an internationally recognized research and thought leader in chemical engineering and carbon science. His research encompasses both fundamental and applied aspects of carbon materials and science, with a focus on the methodologies of producing carbon materials for energy storage and conversion, catalysis, and environment protection. He has published 800+ papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Mater., Adv. Mater., Adv. Font. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Energy Environ. Sci., PNAS, Nature Common., Nano Energy, ACS Nano, Anew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Soc. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Joule, Matter, Chem, Sci. Adv., etc., with a citation 39400+ times and h-index of 96 (web of sci.), and his work has been featured on 64 covers of high profile journals. He has been invited to give 140+ plenary/invited/keynote talks in conferences and in universities and research institutes. He has filed 140+ Chinese and International patents, of which some have been successfully commercialized in China. He has won 20+ prestigious awards and prizes including the 1st class award for fundamental research and industrialization technologies awarded by the Education Ministry of China. Currently, he is the Associate Editor of CIESC Journal, and is on the advisory boards of several journals, including Chemical Engineering Science, Science China Materials, and Energy Technology, etc. He is a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher from 2018 to 2021 in a row, and an Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researchers in 2019 and 2021 in the field of chemical engineering, and 2019 Top 1% highly cited Chinese authors in the field of energy & sustainability in 2019 by the Royal Society of Chemistry. He has served as Associate Editor of three international journals for years, including: Carbon, FlatChem and ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering.
