Prof. Mohammad B. Shadmand is the Director of Intelligent Power Electronics at Grid Edge (IPEG) Research Laboratory and Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at University of IllinoisChicago. His current research interest is resiliency of power electronics dominated grid. He specializes in distributed self-learning control schemes, grid-following and grid-forming inverters, and intrusion detection systems for energy systems. Prof. Shadmand was awarded Michelle Munson Serban Simu Keystone Research Scholar, Kansas State University in 2017. He was awarded the 2019 IEEE Myron Zucker Research Grant. He has awarded multiple best paper awards at different IEEE conferences. He is the General Co-Chair of 50th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IECON 2024), Chicago, IL. He has served as Technical Program Co-Chair of the 2019 and 2022 IEEE Smart Grid & Renewable Energy Conference. He serves as Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industry Application, and IET Renewable Power Generation.

Bei Gou obtained his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at Texas A&M University in 2000. He was a power application engineer with ABB System Control at Santa Clara, CA from 2000 to 2002, and worked as a senior analyst at the Independent System Operator – New England (ISO-NE) from 2002 to 2003. Dr. Gou joined the department of Electrical Engineering at UT Arlington as an assistant professor from 2003 to 2008. He was with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as associate professor at North Dakota State University from 2011 to 2013. Dr. Gou has developed a novel algorithm of power system state estimation which solves the existing problems suffered by today’s state estimators for more than 50 years. He has authored two books, Fuel Cells: Modeling, Control and Applications (Taylor & Francis/CRC Press, USA, 2009) and Monitoring and Optimization of Power Transmission and Distribution Systems (VDM Publishing House Ltd., Germany, 2009).

Dr. S.A. Sherif is a tenured Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and is the Founding Director of the Wayne K. and Lyla L. Masur HVAC Laboratory, the Director of the Industrial Assessment Center and the Director of the Mobile Energy Laboratory at the University of Florida. He served as Co-Director of the Southeastern Center for Industrial Energy Intensity Reduction at the University of Florida (2009-2013). He also served on the faculties of the University of Florida (1991-present), University of Miami (1987-1991), and Northern Illinois University (1984-1987). He is a Life Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME); a Life Fellow of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE); a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society; an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA); a Vice President of Commission B-2 on Refrigerating Equipment of the International Institute of Refrigeration; a Member of the Advisory Board of Directors of the International Association for Hydrogen Energy; and a Founding Member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Thermal and Fluids Engineers (ASTFE). Philip W. T. Pong received a B.Eng. from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2002 with 1st class honours. Then he obtained a PhD in engineering at the University of Cambridge in 2005. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Magnetic Materials Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for three years. Currently he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).His research interest focuses on the fault detection, predictive maintenance, and anomaly detection of power grid. He is the Founding Director of the Green Technology Research and Training Laboratory, leading the research and education activities of offshore wind energy at NJIT. Professor Wang joined the School of Engineering at the University of Warwick in January 2011. Lingai LUO received her Bachelor’s (1982) and Master’s (1984) degrees in thermal energy engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, China. She received her Ph.D. degree (1991) in mechanic and thermal engineering from National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine (INPL), Nancy, France. She worked as assistant professor (1991-1993) at INPL, as associate professor (1993-1996) at University of Nancy I, and at INPL (1996-2003). From 2003 until 2012 she was a professor at University of Savoie, France. She is now senior research director of French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) at the laboratory of thermo-kinetics, Nantes (LTN), France. Dr. Luo’s research covers a wide range of topics in thermal, process and energy engineering: combustion and fluidized bed; energy balance analysis; solar refrigeration machines; separation processes; energy for buildings, etc. More recently, her research activities focus on a fundamental strategy based on thermodynamic analysis and centered on the transfer intensification and energy systems optimization. More precisely, it concerns firstly the design, fabrication, characterization, simulation and optimization of innovative fluidic, thermal and reactive components, and secondly the development of new thermo-chemical systems and processes for low-grade thermal energy transportation and valorization, and inter-seasonal solar energy storage for their applications in buildings. Dr. Luo is mainly engaged in the intensification of heat and mass transfer and shape optimization in different energy components, systems and processes. She proposed a multi-scale approach for process intensification. To improve the global performance (productivity) of a process, intensification should necessarily be implemented at three scales: local scale, component scale and system scale. Dr. Luo is the author of 2 books and about 100 journal articles. From 2007 until 2012, she was the head of laboratory of design optimization and environmental engineering (LOCIE) of CNRS and University of Savoie. She was the cofounder and coordinator of Sino-French Collaboratory for Environmental and Process Engineering (1998 - 2006) and is the head of its successor Sino-French Laboratory for Sustainable Energy (2008-2014) of French CNRS and Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Hong Wei Wu is an Associate Professor in the School of Physics, Engineering and Computer Science, and Leader of the Research Group in Monitoring Climate and its Impact (MCI) – C3R at University of Hertfordshire (UH). He is Fellow of the Energy Institute (FEI), a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Member of IMechE, Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He is a visiting professor at East Kazakhstan State Technical University (EKSTU), Kazakhstan. He received his PhD degree (Joint PhD Programme with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology) in Thermofluids from Beihang University in 2004. He has an academic/research profile previously developed at Northumbria University, University of the West of Scotland, Birmingham University and Brunel University London in UK, as well as at University of British Columbia & University of Alberta in Canada.

Kamyar Mehran (M’09, SM’20) is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Electrical Power Engineering at Queen Mary University in Londonand the director of the Real-Time Power and Control System (RPCS) Laboratory at the school of EECS. He received his PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and MSc in Control and Automation from Newcastle University, UK, in 2010 and 2004, respectively. His area of research interests is developing novel control methodologies and condition monitoring systems for islanded DC microgrids, energy storage systems, and Silicon Carbide (SiC)-based power electronics where he published over 80 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications, and several book chapters. He also has an extensive track record in collaborative research projects with totalling £3.64M of external funding as a principal investigator and co-investigator supported by UKRI research councils including Innovate UK, Royal Society, Newton fund, EPSRC and industry. He is a member and reviewer for EPSRC college and serve as an editorial board member for MDPI Energiesjournal. From 2013 to 2015, he was a research fellow at the University of Warwick, UK, and from 2010-2013 he was a research associate at Newcastle University where he also acted as a commercialisation manager for a Newcastle university spin-off company developing novel opto-electronics for GaN micro-LEDs. Prior to his academic positions, he collected 8 years of industrial experience in the software engineering roles.

Dr. Chua Kian Jon is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore. He has been conducting research on renewable energy systems and heat recovery systems since 1997. He has conducted both modelling and experimental works for specific thermal energy systems. He is highly skilled in designing; fabricating; commissioning and testing many sustainable energy systems to provide for heating, cooling and humidity control for both small and large scale applications. He has been elected to several fellowships including Fellow of Royal Society, Fellow of Energy Institute and Fellow of IMechE. Dr. Deepak L. Waikar, Founder and Managing Partner of EduEnergy Singapore, has been involved in education, training, research, and management fields for more than three decades. He started his professional career as an Assistant Director at the National Power Engineers Training Institute in India after his post-graduation from the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in India. Afterwards shewasa post-doctoral fellowin the group of Professor Silvia Janietzat Fraunhofer Institute for AngewandtePolymerforschung, Golm-Germanyin semiconductingorganic materials (2001). Then, she continued her training with Professor Harry W. Gibson at Virginia Polytechnic Institute& State University Blacksburg–USA, and Professor Helmut Ritterat Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf-Germany,where the work was focusedonthe synthesis of supramolecularconjugated materials. Since 2006, she has been invited professor/collaborator at the University d’Evry(France), Jacobs University (Germany) andCYCergy Paris Université (France). Her interests also include solution-based synthesis of supramolecular conjugated polymers and their interactions with biological entities, activitiesthatare instrumental for future applications in the field of nanobiotechnology. She is senior-author ofmore than 70 research articles published in ISI-indexed journals, and is also author of two books on conjugated polyrotaxanes, and six book chapters. Hideo Kumagai was born in 1959, graduated from Tokyo University of Science in 1982 with a bachelor's degree and started working at Tamagawa Seiki Co., Ltd. He specializes in inertial navigation systems, and has developed many types of inertial navigation systems, including mechanical, optical, and MEMS types. In 2000, he received a doctorate from Ritsumeikan University, and in 2019, he became a managing director at Tamagawa Seiki, and is currently focusing on the development of aircraft equipment.

Dr. Guene Lougou Bachirou is an Associate Professor in the School of Energy Science and Engineering at the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), Harbin, China. He received a B.S. degree in ES Science Physics and Chemistry in 2010 and an M.S. degree in Renewable Energy and Energy Systems in 2012 from the University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin, and a Ph.D. degree in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics in 2018 from the Harbin Institute of Technology. He joined the School of Energy Science and Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology in 2019, as an Assistant Professor (2019-2021). Currently, he is an Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Overseas Expert/Exchange Office at the Harbin Institute of Technology. His current research interests are in the areas of solar thermochemical cycles and energy storage technologies. He is serving on the editorial boards of the Journals of Energies and Rare Metals. Roberto La Rosa received a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Palermo and was conferred a PhD from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, where he authored a thesis on strategies and techniques for powering wireless sensor nodes through energy harvesting and wireless power transfer. Since Joining STMicroelectronics in 1997, he has held a variety of assignments, including the design of high-frequency PLLs for clock generation and recovery, fiber-optic transceiver and system design, power management ICs, and analog, digital and mixed-signal bipolar and CMOS circuit development projects. He is currently a Research Senior Staff Member at STMicroelectronics Catania. His current research interests include Ultra-Low Power applications, Wireless Power Transfer, Energy Harvesting, and very high-frequency power conversion. Dr. La Rosa holds several patents and has published papers on advanced strategies and techniques for powering wireless sensor nodes through energy harvesting and wireless power transfer.

Mihaela Popescu (M’07–SM’15) received the engineering and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Craiova, Craiova, Romania, in 1988 and 2001, respectively. She is currently a Professor with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Craiova, and the Director of the Department of Electro mechanics, Environment and Applied Informatics. Her research interests include power converters, adjustable-speed drives, active power filters, and power quality. She has authored or co-authored more than 150 journal and conference papers in these fields.

Dr. Abdellatif Boukir is Full Professor since 2001 at the Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University (USMBA), Morocco. He received his Master’s (1987) and Ph.D. (1990) degrees in Organic-Chemistry from Aix-Marseille University, France. He worked as Assistant-Professor (1991/1999) and Associate-Professor (1999/2001) at USMBA-University. He received his second Ph.D. degree ‘Doctorat d’Etat’ (1999) in Analytical-Chemistry at USMBA-University, jointly between LCAE Aix-Marseille-University, France. He has published over 50 articles and conference proceedings in peer-reviewed journals (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=Z2N1qD8AAAAJ&hl=fr). They are all with an h-index of 18 (https://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.uri?authorId=6507055122) and h-index=22 (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=Z2N1qD8AAAAJ&hl=fr). He coauthored more than 120 oral communications-posters. Currently, he is the Associate-Editor of JACEP Journal, and a member of the Editorial-Boards of four international peer-reviewed journals: Med.-J.-Chem, AJMAP, PCN, PC&BSJ. He has served as a reviewer of several international indexed journals, including Chemosphere, Wood-Material-Science-Engineering, Materialia, Microchem.-J., Spectrochimica-Acta, Arabian-J.-Chemistry... He is solicited by several international indexed journals as a member of Editorial-Manager, including Environmental-Pollution, Chemosphere, Polym.-Degrad.-Stab., Microchem.-J., (2019-20). He is also a member of the scientific committee of seventeen international scientific events (conferences, symposiums, workshops: 2007-2022), and an organizing-committee member of eleven other International scientific conferences (2005-2021). From 2002-2007, he held the position of Director of the Applied-Chemistry Laboratory. He has been cofounder of several international Europeen-Projects and collaborations (1996-2022). From 2020-2022: He has been a member of the National-Commission of Expertise at ‘ANEAQ’ for evaluation of scientific-research in Moroccan University Institutions. From 2006-2017: Expert-member of the National-Commission of Expertise CNaCES, and CNAE(2006-2007) at Ministry of Higher-Education Scientific-Research): Accreditation of Masters-Bachelors 'Licences' Training/ and Research-Laboratories-Accreditation.

She collaborates with the University of Technology, Wrocaw, Poland and the University of Zaragoza- Zaragoza, Spain, as well as with the research institutes Enea and CNR. Since 2020, she is representative of UNICAL partner within H2020 BRIDGE - Cooperation group of Smart Grid, Energy Storage, Islands and Digitalisation H2020 projects. She is acting as Work Package Leader in several National projects. She is the Scientific Coordinator for the Unical partner of the H2020 Project Ebalanceplus. She also acts as Lead and guest editor for special issues associated with international scientific journals, and she has been plenary speaker in several scientific conferences, chair in international conferences and member of scientific committees. She is the author of many scientific papers published in international journals and proceedings of international conferences. She is a co-author of the National industrial patent BI2638M “DISPOSITIVO ELETTRONICO DI CONTROLLO DI UN MOTORE STIRLING DI TIPO FREE-PISTON CON ALTERNATORE LINEARE E RELATIVO METODO DI CONTROLLO”, n° 102016000065916. She is a member of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Consortium CRETA (Regional Consortium for Energy and Environmental Protection) as well as one of the founders of Spin-off Academic CRETA Energie Speciali Srl operating in the field of renewable energy sources. She is member of the Scientific and Technical Committee of Polo d’Innovazione Ambiente e Rischi Naturali - NET, having as trajectories: techniques, products and devices for the analysis and assessment of hydrogeological risk and other environmental risks; devices, sensors and solutions for the earthquake protection of the territory; early warning systems and emergency management related to environmental risks; new energy technologies and reuse of scraps and waste to reduce the environmental impact. Since October 2017 she is appointed by the Regione Calabria, as technical expert and support the activity of the Head of the Procedure having the specific technical skills, as part of the implementation of the "Sistema di collegamento metropolitano tra Cosenza, Rende e Università della Calabria". She is carrying out teaching activities in the energy engineering degree courses and in several Masters in the field of smart grids and power electronic converters. She is director of the Master in Sustainable Mobility and Infrastructure Engineering (MIMI Calabria) of the University of Calabria.

Mr. Abdelkrim ABOURRICHE is a Professor in the Industrial Engineering Department at National School of Applied Sciences in Safi, Morocco. Abourriche’s specialist areas are the development of original natural resources such as Moroccan oil shale. He also worked as Project Manager entitled: Solvent Extraction of organic matter of oil shale. Study and Promotion of the oils produced. This project is funded by Hassan II Academy of Science and Technology. In 2008 he took on the role of Head of the Industrial Engineering Department at National School of Applied Sciences Safi. He is the author of over 50 publications in international journals and conference proceedings refereed and a hundred oral presentations or by posters. He is the member of scientific and organizing committees of several national and international conferences.

Jung-Chang Wang (J.-C. Wang) is a full Professor in the School of Marine Engineering (M.E.), National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), Keelung, Taiwan, and is also the Director of the Thermal-Fluid Illumination Laboratory. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and Mechanical PhD from National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taiwan in 2007. He has been teaching and researching on electronic heat transfer and renewable energy for more than ten years. He has published more than 100 research papers in international journals, conferences and patents, and edited five book chapters. His main research interest includes applied and software engineering in thermal-fluid science.

Prof. Dr. Constantin Voloşencu graduated as an engineer from Politehnica University of Timișoara, Romania, where he also obtained a doctorate degree. He is currently a full professor in the Department of Automation and Applied Informatics at the same university. Dr. Voloşencu is the author of ten books, seven book chapters, and more than 160 papers published in journals and conference proceedings. He has also edited twelve books and has twenty-seven patents to his name. He is a manager of research grants, editor in chief and member of international journal editorial boards, a former plenary speaker, a member of scientific committees, and chair at international conferences. His research is in the fields of control systems, control of electric drives, fuzzy control systems, neural network applications, fault detection and diagnosis, sensor network applications, monitoring of distributed parameter systems, and power ultrasound applications. He has developed automation equipment for machine tools, spooling machines, high-power ultrasound processes, and more.

Professor Emeritus Han-Yong Jeon is a geosynthetics/technical organic materials researcher of Inha University, Incheon, South Korea. Since 1998, he is the director of Geosynthetics Institute Korea Directory and has worked in International Geosynthetics Society as Council member (2006~2012) and the 6th president of Korean Geosynthetics Society (2011~2013) and the 32nd President of Korean Fiber Society (2014~2015). He has published more than 1,106 proceedings in the domestic and international conferences and published 227 papers including “A Study on the Radiation Shielding and Absorption Effects of Nonwoven Composites by Monte-Carlo Simulation Analysis”, applied sciences, 12, 3570, 2022 in domestic & international journals. He wrote 25 Korean and English books including 'Review of Sustainable Geosynthetics Development Trend with Environmental Adaptive and Eco-Environmental Performances Point of View’, Geopolymers and Other Geosynthetics, ISBN 978-1-78985-176-2, IntechOpen, 2020. He has awards of Marquis Who'sWho - Science and Engineering in 2003~2017 and Top 100 Scientists in the World: 2005/2011 of IBC (International Biographical Centre, UK). Also, he got the 33rd Academy Award of Korean Fiber Society in 2006 and “Excellent Paper Award of 2012” by The Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies. Besides this, he got the 33rd Academy Award (The Korean Fiber Society), 2006 and the Best Publication Award (Korea Association of Technical Textile Industry), 2017 and the 41st Prize of Jung-Hun Textile Industry (Academy Award), 2020.

Atallah Ouai was born in Laghouat, Algeria. He received the engineering diploma from Laghouat University, Algeria, in 2003. He obtained his Magister degree and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, in 2012 and 2020 respectively from Laghouat University, Algeria. In 2013, he joined the Electrical Engineering Department of Laghouat University, Algeria, as an Assistant Professor. Since 2020, he has been an Associate Professor in the same department. In 2021, He received the Accreditation to supervise researches (HDR), from Laghouat University, Algeria. He is also a Team Member of "Control and Energy Management" of Electrical research group of LACoSERE Laboratory, Laghouat University, Algeria. His research interests include renewable energy systems control and management, power quality, integration and dynamic interaction with grid. Dr.Ajay Kumar Maurya received the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, thesis entitled "Investigations on Solarand Ocean Wave Based Hybrid Energy System" from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India, in September 2021. He received his B. Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from UPTU, Lucknow, India, in 2008 and hisM.Tech degree in Power System from Gautam Buddha University, Gautambuddha Nagar, U.P., India, in 2013. Presently, he is continuing his duty as an assistant professor at the School of Automation inBanasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, India sinceJuly 2019. So far in his research career, he published 6 journal articles, 4 conference proceedings, and 1 book chapter.
