Biography
Prof. WANG Zhengwei completed his Ph.D. in Fluid Machinery and Fluid Engineering at Department of Hydropower Engineering in Tsinghua University in Sep.1996. Then he continued to work in the same university, firstly as a lecturer, then associate professor, director of Institute of Fluid Machinery and Fluid Engineering, director-appointed professor and head of fluid machinery and engineering research team in the Department of Energy and Power Engineering of Tsinghua University. While he was working at Tsinghua university as a lecturer, during Jan.1998 – May.1999, he did his Post-doctor on Fluid Machinery and Engineering at Politechnical University of Catalynia, Spain.
Prof. Wang also serves as a member of IAHR International Academic Committee on Hydraulic Machinery and Systems, the chairman of IAHR Asian Working Group, vice-director of the National Marine Energy Technical Committee, member of the National Renewable Energy Society, vice-director of the China Hydro-Turbine Commission, member of the Hydraulic Turbine Standardization Committee, member of the Professional Committee on Wind and Tidal Power Generation of the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering, member of the Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Hydropower Equipment, and organized several international academic conferences and various forms of international academic research activities.
In combination with long-term engineering practice, Professor Wang led his research team and carried out theoretical models, numerical calculations and performance analysis of multi-field coupling characteristics and multi-phase flow in fluid machinery, forming a complete research and development technology for multi-field coupling analysis and evaluation of hydrogenerator units. More than 80 sets of hydraulic turbine/pump runner were developed and operated safely, efficiently and stably in many hydropower stations/pumping stations across various locations in China. The research results have won more than 30 awards, including 3 first prizes and 9 second prizes at provincial and ministerial level.
Professor Wang has presided over 2 National High Technology Research and Development Program projects, 1 National Natural Science Key Fund project, 4 general projects, 1 special research project of State Oceanic Administration, 3 Green Design platform projects of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. He also participated in 2 national key science and technology projects, was responsible for 4 international cooperation projects and more than 200 scientific research projects in domestic enterprises and institutions.
He is the author of Basic Fluid Machinery, Multi-LINGUAL Hydraulic Machinery Vocabulary (Chinese, English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Japanese) and Analysis Techniques of Hydraulic Machinery Flow-induced Oscillation and Vibration.
The research team led by Professor Wang has obtained 19 patents and 5 registered software copyrights. He has published more than 380 scientific research papers, of which more than 150 have been indexed by WOS, 140 by SCI and 260 by EI.
