Biography
Dr. Fahrettin Ozturk is currently the Executive Vice President, Manufacturing at Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazit University, Ankara, Turkey. Since 2016, he has served as the Vice President of the departments: Strategy and Technology Management, Prototype, R&D and Prototype, in addition as the Executive Vice President of R&D and Prototype, and Prototype at Turkish Aerospace.
Dr. Ozturk received all his degrees in Mechanical Engineering. His undergraduate degree from Selcuk University, Konya, Turkey in 1992 (ranked first), M.Sc. from University of Pittsburgh, PA, USA in 1996, and Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, USA in 2002.
Dr. Ozturk worked as a part-time contractor for General Electric Research Center in the USA for 3 years. He has given consulting services and conducted projects for Automotive and Aerospace Industries in Turkey for 15 years. Dr. Ozturk worked at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Nigde Omer Halisdemir University (formerly Nigde University), and Khalifa University (formerly The Petroleum Institute (PI)) prior to Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc.
In addition to his management duties, his primary research interests are in Sheet Metal Forming, Materials Processing, Materials Characterizations, Lightweight Materials, Thermoplastic Composite Materials, Additive Manufacturing, and Mechanically Sleeved CRA Pipes. He has published numerous Journal Papers, Book Chapters, Conference Proceedings, and writes columns.
